This is a really simple, adaptable recipe for making any kind of pasta sauce that you would like.
Some suggestions for what you can do with it add a pound of meat, whiskey, veggies, whatever. I personally enjoy adding bell peppers, carrot, zucchini and beef.
If you want to prepare bulk meals this recipe is great for freezing if you want to double it.
Ingredients
- 1 large can (500ml) diced tomatoes
- 1 large can (500ml) crushed tomatoes
- 1 small can of tomato paste
- 1/2 onion chopped
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp worchestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
Directions
- Pre-cook your meat if you’ve got it
- Chop up your vegetables.
- Heat olive oil in a large pot
- Cook onions and garlic for about a minute until onions are a little soft
- Add all other vegetables, cook for another 4 minutes or so
- Add all other ingredients, bring the pot to a boil, then let it simmer for 20-30 minutes.
